Once I decided to make a healthier lifestyle change and start juicing, I did a ton of research. As this was something I wanted to do right and I had a limited budget, meaning I couldn’t spare $1000 plus dollars for a juicing machine. I needed to find the best value available for my dollars. And I did. I discovered that there is a lot to consider when choosing a juicing machine such as ease of use, versatility, warranty and price. Read on to find out Champion juicer is the best in class in all these requirements.

Ease of Use
Wow, the champion juicer machine is pretty easy to operate, just as easy to clean up and it leaves very little pulp after juicing. What little pulp remains is almost bone dry. I was amazed. Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t as easy to clean up as a centrifugal juicer that ejects its pulp, but it’s not too much more of a hassle. I like that you can get the add-on to convert it into a grain mill and with another, this thing makes great frozen smoothies. All you have to do is throw in some frozen fruit right out of the freezer and ouala,

Warranty
Are you ready for this? The warranty is a whopping full three years. It doesn’t just cover the motor or gears. It covers the whole champion juicer machine for the full three years from manufacturer defects or flaws. That’s pretty impressive for any juicer.  Keep in mind that this brand of juicer has been in existence since the early 1950’s. So, the company that makes them is strong and makes a tried and true product. I believe they made the first juicer, ever.

Price
The best part of these masticating juicers is that they are beyond reasonable. The standard champion juicer G5-NG-853-S model’s  MSRP is $300 . Don’t fret, you can get it at Amazon for $199 and sometimes even less. Keep in mind, other brands of masticating juicer cost $500 and up. The Heavy duty commercial champion juicer G5-PG710 MSRP is $350; it has a bigger motor and is pretty much an all metal machine with few plastic parts. So, this model scores big points in the durability department. Again, similar masticating juicers of other brands will run you upwards of $700.  Again, you can find this particular model online for less then $240.

I searched pretty hard to find something bad about this machine, and could not find anything wrong at all. This is a rare quality in a product. Maybe it has something to do with how long this company has been making this machine. The champion juicer reviews on Amazon support what I am saying here, I am not being biased. Check it out for yourself.

Citrus Power Juicer: power vs. manual?

Citrus Juicers

I only recently got into juicing. I bought a centrifugal juicer only to find out that it may not have been the best option as a citrus juicer. I like grapefruit juice, orange juice and other varieties of citrus and so this was kind of a disappointment. Now, I need two machines. Oh well. So, the next questions I had were: Should I buy an electric citrus juicer or a manual citrus juicer? Is it worth the cost, and how much fresh orange juice do I really plan to drink, naturally.

First off a commercial citrus juicer can be expensive. So, that wasn’t an option. I am not trying to go Jamba juice in my kitchen. However, if you are looking for something close to commercial grade then I would go with Warring citrus juicer.  That brand is probably about the best citrus juicer for the price available anywhere. Otherwise regular low to mid end electric citrus juicers will run you about twenty dollars to forty dollars on Amazon. Manual citrus juicers cost you even less money on Amazon. We’re talking five to twenty dollars here. Do not get me wrong, if you so chose you could spend a hundred and seventy or more.

Honestly, I am not interested in the brute force required to get all the juice out of my citrus.  As cheap as these machines come, I would opt for an automatic citrus juicer. The manual citrus juicer is too much effort for that early in the morning, especially for someone as lazy as I.  Anyway, for the money why not go with a citrus power juicer?

I am not sure how much fresh orange juice I would likely drink, or even if it would be enough to justify buying a citrus juicer. At the prices available online it’s not so painful to give it a try. It is tempting to get one of those fancy ones though.  I like the Beville brand of juicer as that’s what I have currently.

So, guess you have to decide for yourself if it’s worth it or not. I think it is, if you are looking to juice more than oranges. Drink up!

Have you just bought a new juicer? Or are have you been into juicing for a while and are looking for new ways to create exciting and delicious recipes? In this article will cover the basics of creating a healthy, satisfying and tasty juicer recipe. The key to a great tasting juice recipe is a right combination of fruits and vegetables to balance the variety of neutral subtle and strong flavors. After reading this article you will find it much easier to explore the world of juicing and be able to create more recipes beyond what you may already have tried.

Neutral flavored produce give your juice recipe body and balance
Neutral ingredients such as carrots, apples and lettuce (ice berg) yield a lot more “juice” for the money. These tend to be very high in water content and are some of the most affordable ingredients to serve as your juice base. I recommend using a whole or half head of lettuce, or a combination of carrots and red or green apples together. The carrots and apple flavors tend to cancel each other out nicely. Once you have your base juice it’s time to add in some of the more overwhelming flavors.

Overwhelming flavors should the accent to your juicing recipe.
There are plenty of ingredients that can have a very overwhelming flavor as a juice. It’s best to use these in small amount to give your juice accent. A good rule to follow is if it has a strong taste as raw food it will most likely over power your drink. Some examples: celery, basil, cucumber, cabbage, lemon, orange, grapefruit. There are too many to list here. You should only add in enough of the strongest tasting ingredients to accent. This varies in the exact amount but generally  it should not account for more then 1/8 of the recipe. This is where you may want to experiment 1 glass at a time. It can be helpful to write down what you put in for each glass you try so when you get it right, you won’t forget what you did.

Flavors – Go wild
You can go wild with any fruit or vegetable that you truly enjoy as a solid raw food, feel free to finish out the recipe with these. If you hate vegetables then try to stick with fruits as much as possible. If you insist on having vegetables added go with carrots, bell peppers or baby spinach as your vegetable component. Otherwise, it can be very challenging to find vegetables that mix well with fruits.

Vegetable Rules
After you have made a list of vegetables that you really like ordinarily, and you want to make sure you are getting the most nutritional value possible, you may want to prioritize which vegetables you want as your primary ingredient. Here is the easiest       rule to follow with vegetables; the greener a vegetable is in its natural raw leafy state the richer it is in nutrients; basically, the greener the better. That’s why baby spinach is so great to add to any recipes for juicers.

Fruits – Watch out for the sugar
A common misconception about fruit that may people have, is that it contains less sugar then the store bought variety. This is only partially true. All fruit is naturally high in sugar content. Is it less then what is contained in concentrate? Yes, but sometimes not by much. So if sugar is a main concern you may want to limit the amount of fruit juice you intake. Fruit and vegetable flavors tend to clash with the few exceptions I already mentioned (mainly carrots, baby spinach and lettuce. Adding a few drops of lemon juice to any recipe will help the juice last a few extra days. However, it’s best to drink any and all juice you make within 24 hours.

If you follow these simple rules, you will be well on your way to juicing like a pro. Remember, the key to a delicious juice is the right combination of fruits and vegetables to balance the variety of neutral subtle and strong flavors. Now, you should be able to explore and end up creating your very own awesome juice recipes, and reap the nutritional benefits for your body. So, get juicing and have fun.
